Life, love, loss, and life continues...

I'm new at this so here goes. Well, my life changed forever on 8 November 2007. My love, my husband, died in a tragic helicopter crash in San Lucia di Piave, Italy. He is the love of my life and with him I felt so complete. Through, the past few months the Lord has taught me many lessons. Some involve forgiveness, some involve knowing the blessings in your life even through hardship. The most important is that even though I feel so lost at times that He is in control and is watching out for us even through the incidents that create so much pain. Since his death, I have reconnected with many friends that I have not seen or talked to in years. This I believe is the Lord's way of saying that no matter what the differences you have had in the past there are somethings in life that are more important! Also through this tragedy I have seen that I'm so blessed! Blessed because I know my love is in Heaven. Blessed because I know what the true meaning of family is. The last statement I have been pondering for many days now. I have a wonderful, wonderful family, immediate family, extended family, God's family, army family, dog family :), and friends. I know all of you are part of the reason that I get up every morning. I'm not saying that it is always easy. But you keep me going.....BLESSINGS YOU ALL ARE IN MY LIFE! Well, now as my life continues on without my love, I would like to share with my family just how I'm doing. Hopefully, this will help you as much as I hope it will help me.

My sweetest Rach,

I am glad you decided to do this. I think and pray for you everyday and I'm glad I'll have a way to know exactly what's going on between the times we talk!
It really looks like the girls are doing well too!

Love you always,

Hi Rachael.

Great to hear from you. You are in Tonda's and my prayers as you continue down your new path in life. I miss your smile and the way you made others around you cheer up with your kind words. As I told you before you left, I hope I have half of your courage and strength when I am faced with a similar situation.

Take Care.

I read Liz and Mark's blog once or twice a week. I am glad to see you have one too.
